<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">First new feature</span>: view tags. They allow for the use of a post view tracking pixels to be positioned in Facebook ads that enable new precise post view impact measurements.</p>
<p>Some clients use this functionality to test several strategies (fan acquisition / existing fan engagement) and precisely determine the sales’ percentage for which Facebook is responsible, the ideal placement for their ads as well as understanding the conversion tunnel combined with other marketing channels.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Another major new feature</span> is the implementation of Custom Audiences. It allows advertisers to encode and upload its clients’ email database and then cross reference the targeting against its CRM data and Facebook’s.</p>
<p>Lead generation oriented clients have already boosted their ROI by as much as 20 to 30 percent by excluding people already recruited through other marketing channels.</p>
<p>A major ecommerce player is using Custom Audiences as a means to retarget on Facebook people it can no longer get in touch with, via other levers such as emailing. It can therefore keep in touch with clients who had unsubscribed from its newsletter.</p>

<p>The objective of these advertising campaigns was to recruit fans belonging to the target markets at the lowest possible cost per fan.</p>
<p>Each campaign received about 10 000 clicks, giving representative results that were worthy of drawing conclusions from. We were able to evaluate the performance of new Facebook Ad locations &#8211; the Desktop and the Mobile News Feed – compared to the traditional right-hand sidebar (see image on the left)</p>
<p>In terms of size, News Feed ads are a lot larger than many traditional display and mobile units.  Desktop News Feed images can be up to 480 * 480 pixels, whereas Mobile News Feed ads are 320 * 290 pixels, taking more than a half of the phone screen.</p>
<p>These new Ad formats go beyond the classic Sponsored Stories, allowing marketers to apply “native” ad strategies and promote their content into the endemic experience of a web site or a web page in a non-interruptive, integrated way. The results are indeed very convincing.</p>
<p>The Desktop News Feed Ads for our entertainment industry customer enjoyed a click-through-rate of over 2%, the mobile Ads being slightly behind with 1.8%. The traditional Ad location on the right-hand column, however, generated a click-through-rate of only 0.3% due to the lack of integration in the contents of the page.</p>
<p>The new Ad locations have thus proven to be much more efficient, reducing the cost per fan by 50%. Whether the purpose of your advertisement is to recruit fans or to raise brand awareness, Desktop and Mobile News Feed can definitely a great solution for your campaigns.</p>

<h1>Where exactly can I find Facebook Ads ?</h1>
<p>Facebook advertising is located on the right hand-side bar of your Facbeook Home page ? Of your profile or of Fan Pages. At times you will see the word « sponsored » atop the ads, this gives you an indication of the nature of the link ; « sponsored links ». Sponsored links are links rerouting you the advertiser’s website or to his Facebook Fan page.</p>

<p>Beneath the description you will find a « Like » link or a « so and so has liked this XYZ page » link. To remove a particular ad from your side bar, click on The X in the top right corner. Removing this ad will trigger a quick question from Facebook to evaluate the quality of the Facebook ad and survey the reason why you want to remove this ad. It informs Facebook on what to and to show you in the future.</p>

<li>Images need to be easily identifiable and <strong>understandable</strong>. Use colors, portraits, attractive product pictures. Stay away from logos and text, they aren’t very visible and not well received by <a href="http://www.google.fr">Facebook users</a>.</li>
</ul>

<li>The body of your ad should also draw the reader’s attention. The content will be one of the thing to &#8220;make it or break it&#8221;. Announcing a prize win can be very attractive, for example. Calls to action such as « click here » or &#8220;act now!&#8221; have a high yield.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Make sure that the content of your ad matches the content of the page to which it reroutes the user to.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>For any given campaign, always suggest 2 different creatives. Your best strategy is to test 5 or 6 different images and observe in time, which performs best. You will then be able to push the successful ones and stop the non-performing others.<strong></strong></li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">The image catches the attention and the body of the ad converts </span></strong></p>

<li>Make sure that all of your campaigns have a well-defined and accurate target</li>

<li>Keep in mind that your target should always count anywhere between 100,000 and 500,000 users</li>
</ul>

<li>Target a specific country and make sure you communicate in the language(s) spoken in the country (Sounds obvious but you’d be surprised !&#8230;) . Also, do not assume that the interests are the same in other countries. Facebook pages are usually very different from one country to another.</li>
</ul>
<pre><strong>Step 3: Synchronize Your Ads with Facebook </strong></pre>
<ul>
<li>Plan to spend at least 1 Euro per ad. If you have created 100 ads, spend at least 100 Euros daily for this campaign.</li>
</ul>

<li>The idea is to position yourself in the highest bidders during the first 24 hours, in order to guarantee your ads will be displayed.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Remember to regularly (every 7 to 10 days) « refresh » your campaigns : Re-start them or even better, test new creatives and new formats to keep your audience’s attention.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>After a while, once you have « recruited » a decent amount of fans to your page, consider using <em>Sponsored Stories</em>. Sponsored Stories will allow you to reach your target’s friends.
